New York State Seeks Latest Round of Renewable Energy Projects to Fuel Climate Goals

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the state’s latest land-based renewable energy solicitation, continuing progress toward the state’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act goal to obtain 70 percent of New York’s electricity from renewable sources by 2030. Eligibility applications are due July 15, 2024, with final proposals due August 8, 2024.

The competitive solicitation, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), is the latest in a planned series of procurements of land-based large scale renewable projects. The projects are expected to spur billions of dollars in clean energy investments and create thousands of jobs.
